Colonoscopy

After collecting your Preparation Kit, your paperwork will be kept at the Hospital to prepare for your day of admission.

If you live “home alone”, you will need to arrange a ‘sleepover’ the night BEFORE your procedure.  You are required to have someone present in your home whilst taking the preparation in case there are any problems whilst taking the preparation.  If you are unable to arrange this, your procedure may need to be cancelled, and rescheduled for an in-hospital appointment.

If you require an interpreter please inform Booking staff as soon as possible so this can be arranged.

As you are having a Day Surgery procedure with twilight anaesthetic, it is advisable that you keep the entire day free to recover at home.

Please ensure your carer’s phone number is written on your admission form, and/or brought at time of your admission so we can contact them at time of your discharge. Your expected time at the hospital is 2-3½ hours. (Prompt discharge will aid your recovery)
